Auto

This is an example of a special 6-jaw, master jaw, diaphragm, with dissimilar tooling. Note the special locator that is used to orient the part and hold it in a vertical position, as it is related to the chuck. The application is a finish grind:

This example, again for the automotive industry, utilizes a 3-jaw, master jaw diaphragm, for a milling operation. We are griping on the O.D. of the tooth form:

For the camshaft industry, we utilize a hydraulically powered, self-contained, 3-jaw, master jaw diaphragm. This diaphragm utilizes a push/pull design to provide further power during the grind operation:

Shown below is a very basic 6-jaw, master jaw diaphragm used in a grinding application.

In this example we utilized a 6-jaw, dovetail style diaphram, mounting special jaws to grip the part for a grind application. The dovetail style jaws can be adjusted and ground for superior accuracy.
